Polished Rims

Enhancing Aesthetics and Performance with a Reflective Shine

Polished rims can really enhance the look of a vehicle, giving it a sleek, shiny appearance. They reflect light beautifully and can make the wheels stand out.  We can remove any damage, re polish to a high standard and protect with a powder lacquer to complete the look.

Process

The diamond cut process is a technique used to achieve a highly polished and visually striking finish on alloy wheels. It involves several steps that create a unique, reflective surface that showcases the wheel’s design. Here’s an overview of the diamond cut process:

Stripping, Sanding and Repairing

Hot acid bath treatment to strip all existing paint and lacquer, shot blasting to remove contaminants, rust, stubborn paint, and other surface imperfections. Finally, filler for deeper damage, if necessary, all to give the perfect surface to start the restoration paint process.

Painting

Water based paints are used to apply your preferred colour to the spokes of the alloy wheel, giving a unique accent.

CNC Machining

The key feature of the diamond cut process is the use of a CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machine. This machine precisely cuts the surface of the wheel, creating a shiny, diamond-like finish.

Powder Coating

Lacquer powder is applied using an electrostatic spray gun, which charges the powder particles. This charge causes the particles to adhere to the grounded surface. The wheel is then placed in an oven where the heat causes the powder to melt and chemically bond to the surface, creating a tough, uniform finish.

WORK PROCESS

Preparation

Each alloy is dipped in our hot acid tanks and stripped back to bare metal. Any major rim damage is hand repaired; each alloy then undergoes media blasting ensuring we have the perfect surface to apply the powder coat primer and paint.

Paint And Powder

Powder coat primer is applied followed by the paint colour of your choosing.

Hand Polish

Our technician will expertly machine polish the required sections of your alloy wheel.

Powder Lacquer

A clear powder lacquer is then applied and oven cured to give a durably high shine or matt finish.

Final Checks

All alloys are quality checked and once passed will be refitted to your vehicle.
